Только глухому нынче придет на ум сравнивать их с Children of Bodom, настолько сумели "Калмыки" выверить и отточить собственную мелодику за 10 лет. На данном альбоме нам и вовсе пытаются создать впечатление, что альбом писался на кухне! Нет, звук хороший, но без вливаний наива не обошлись. Послушайте хотя бы "бардовское" вступление на "Rust Never Sleeps", финал "Better Not to Tell", "пьяный" хор на "Hook the Monster". Душевно, черт возьми, получилось.

Select is the second studio album by Kim Wilde, released on 10 May 1982 via RAK label.
The first single from this album, "Cambodia", was released in November 1981 and signalled a different sound from the Wilde camp, with an electronic and synth sound different from the rock sound of her last album. The songs were again written by Marty and Ricky Wilde and produced by Ricky Wilde. The lyrics of the songs were similar to the first album: the second single "View from a Bridge" and the album track "Wendy Sadd" seemed to be about suicide, "Chaos at the Airport" described a nightmare about flying and "Ego" was quite the opposite of a love song. "Can You Come Over" was recorded at the Wilde's home. The cover image was a photograph from Gered Mankowitz.

Seit diesem Album aber, welches erst vier Jahre alt ist und dennoch definitiv zu meinen Lieblings-Metal-Alben gehört, verfolge ich das Soloprojekt von J.J., dem Frontmann der österreichischen Post-Black-Metaller Harakiri For The Sky (im Übrigen auch sehr zu empfehlen), mit großer Begeisterung. Zwei Jahre nach dem vielleicht nicht ganz so starken, aber immer noch grandiosen Nachfolger "Dornenvögel" steht nun "Traktat" vor der Tür.

Kaiser Chiefs are an English indie rock band from Leeds who formed in 2000 as Parva, releasing one studio album, 22, in 2003, before renaming and establishing themselves in their current name that same year. Since their formation the band has consisted of lead vocalist Ricky Wilson, guitarist Andrew "Whitey" White, bassist Simon Rix, keyboardist Nick "Peanut" Baines and since 2013 drummer Vijay Mistry, who replaced founding drummer Nick Hodgson following his departure from the band in late 2012.
