Дебютник замечательной викинг-металической команды. Мелодично, напористо, разнообразно, чуть грязновато (последнее объясняется годом выхода альбома - ранее у группы существовал только миньон 1994, еще менее технически совершенный). Вообще, прослеживается очень положительная черта викинга в целом - если мелодия грустная, то это еще не значит, что она обязательно сопливая. Музыка кое-где не страдает сложностью, но, тем не менее, очень приятна на слух

Этот альбом сделал My Dying Bride великими и, кроме того, стал важнейшей вехой в развитии doom/death и экстремального металла вообще. Достаточно трудно объяснить непосвященным всю значимость «Turn Loose the Swans» для андеграундной сцены, описать всю силу и красоту этой музыки, но все же придется сделать это, тем более что я очень люблю эту пластинку. Поэтому данная рецензия – скорее не рецензия, а исследование, что позволит мне несколько отойти от стандартной схемы. Не судите строго!

Crises ist ein Studioalbum des britischen Musikers Mike Oldfield aus dem Jahr 1983. Crises ist auch der Titel des ersten Stückes auf dem Album.

Angelehnt an seinen Erfolg mit dem Vorgängeralbum Five Miles Out setzte Oldfield erneut auf das Prinzip: Seite 1 (der damaligen LP) mit einem langen Instrumentalstück (21 Minuten), Seite 2 mit einem kurzen Instrumentalstück und vier gesungenen Liedern. Im Booklet schreibt Oldfield dazu: “One side is very commercial (…) while the other is more the material I want to do for personal satisfaction. It’s a case of keeping everybody happy.” („Eine Seite ist sehr kommerziell (…) während die andere eher das Material enthält, das ich zur persönlichen Befriedigung kreiere. So sind Alle glücklich.“)

Tubular Bells initially sold slowly, but gained worldwide attention in December 1973 when its opening theme was used for the soundtrack to the horror film The Exorcist. This led to a surge in sales which increased Oldfield's profile and played an important part in the growth of the Virgin Group. It stayed in the top ten of the UK Albums Chart for one year from March 1974, during which it reached number one for one week. It reached number three on the US Billboard 200, and number one in Canada and Australia. It has sold more than 2.7 million copies in the UK, and an estimated 15 million copies worldwide.

Ommadawn is the third studio album by English musician, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Mike Oldfield, released on 7 November 1975 on Virgin Records.

Ommadawn peaked at No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart, No. 74 in Canada, and No. 146 on the US Billboard 200. The song that concludes "Ommadawn (Part Two)", entitled "On Horseback", was released as a single in November 1975 with Oldfield's non-album track "In Dulci Jubilo". The album reached gold certification by the British Phonographic Industry within two months, signifying 100,000 copies sold.

Crises is the eighth studio album by English musician and songwriter Mike Oldfield, released on 27 May 1983 on Virgin Records. Oldfield started recording the album towards the end of his 1982 tour supporting his previous record, Five Miles Out. It marked a continuation of Oldfield's experimentation with more accessible music which began in the late 1970s; side one contains the 20-minute "Crises" and side two contains a collection of shorter songs which feature vocalists Maggie Reilly, Jon Anderson, and Roger Chapman. Oldfield produced Crises with drummer Simon Phillips, who also plays on the album.
