В целом, альбом получился в духе предшественника, но произошли и некоторые изменения: песни стали медленнее и длиннее, чуть мягче и разнообразнее. В некоторых фрагментах стали использоваться звуковые эффекты. Именно из-за недостатка скорости диск немного послабее "Reign Of Fear". В остальном остаются самые положительные впечатления. Очень хорошее завершение первого периода Rage, который я считаю лучшим.

Второй альбом датчан держится абсолютно на тех же позициях, что и вышедший годом ранее дебютник («Land оf Broken Hearts» 1992). Никаких изменений мной не было замечено. И по стилю, и по звуку эти альбомы – братья-близнецы. И столь быстрый выход «Clown in the Mirror» никак не повлиял на качество самих песен. Они по-прежнему являют собой мелодичные боевички в стиле хард-н-хэви, с характерными хоровыми припевами и оптимистичной атмосферой. И было бы естественно предположить, что хитов нет, что музыканты просто погнались за деньгами, так быстро выпустив альбом. Но нет, хиты здесь имеются, взять хотя бы блестящий боевик «On the Run» с исповедью беглеца, красивую инструменталку «Third Stage» (достойный преемник «Martial Arts» с прошлого альбома), динамичный номер «Here Today, Gone Tomorrow», среднетемповый боевик «Bad Blood» и финальный трек «Epilogue» с философским текстом о том, что всему наступает конец.

Вот так и здесь: ничего особенного, просто хороший концертник хорошей группы. Материал весьма обширен, было охвачено все творчество коллектива. Звук очень даже неплохой, оформление даже «союзовского» диска достойно похвалы. Но при этом нашлось место и для подводных камней. Во-первых: ну какого черта все фотографии в буклете были сделаны на концерте в Италии? Неужели петербуржцы, многие из которых пришли в «Мюзик Холл» даже в строгих костюмах, не заслужили того, чтобы попасть на страницы буклета? Да еще и тексты здесь ни к селу ни к городу. Сколько себя помню, а в концертные альбомы тексты еще никто не вставлял. Мелочи, конечно, но с японским концертом "1996" все равно не сравнить…

Нельзя не отметить значительные перемены в судьбе группы, которые сопутствовали выходу нового альбома. Reign of Fear стал первым альбомом, созданным группой после её переименования из Avenger в Rage. В виду растущей популярности немецкого коллектива, также была изменена звукозаписывающая студия Wishbone Records на более популярную Noise Records. Продюсером альбома стал Ральф Хьюберт (лидер и продюсер всех альбомов группы Mekong Delta).

«Sagas Of Iceland» - это один из самых ожидаемых пауэрных релизов уходящего года. К сожалению, тевтонских пауэрщиков осталось очень и очень мало, да к тому же и балуют они своих поклонников весьма редко. Вот, кажется, недавно разродился Grave Digger вполне сильным альбомом «The Last Supper», оставался только ответ за его соперниками Rebellion, которые в свою очередь решили создать ещё один концептуальный альбом, который кроме всего прочего обещался быть изданным в трёх частях! Честно говоря, до выпуска «Sagas Of Iceland» я не очень серьёзно воспринимал этот коллектив, и то, что он будет выпускаться в будущем казалось мне иллюзорной мечтой. Но как оказалось, выпустив две отличные работы ранее, эти немцы не собираются сдаваться, и кажется, ещё порадуют нас не один раз!

Signals is the ninth studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released on September 9, 1982 by Anthem Records. After the release of their previous album, Moving Pictures, the band started to prepare material for a follow-up during soundchecks on their 1981 concert tour and during the mixing of their subsequent live album Exit...Stage Left. Signals demonstrates the group's continuing use of synthesizers, sequencers, and other electronic instrumentation. It is the last album produced by their longtime associate Terry Brown, who had worked with them since 1974.

Permanent Waves is the seventh studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released on January 14, 1980, through Anthem Records. After touring to support their previous album, Hemispheres (1978), the band began working on new material for a follow-up album in July 1979. This material showed a shift in the group's sound towards more concise arrangements and radio friendly songs (such as "The Spirit of Radio" and "Freewill"), though their progressive rock blueprint is still evident on "Jacob's Ladder" and the more than nine-minute closer "Natural Science". Bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee also employed a more restrained vocal delivery compared to previous albums. Permanent Waves was recorded in 1979 at Le Studio in Morin-Heights, Quebec with production handled by the group and Terry Brown.

After touring to support their previous album, Permanent Waves (1980), the band started to write and record new material in August 1980 with co-producer Terry Brown. They continued to write songs with a more radio-friendly format, featuring tighter song structures and songs of shorter length compared with their earlier albums.
