It's almost too easy to tag a pair of French guitarists with the Django Reinhardt label, but in the case of Sylvain Luc and Bireli Lagrene's beautiful new Duet, there are moments when the tag is wonderfully accurate. Throughout a swinging rendition of Reinhardt's "Douce Ambiance" and the classic "Stompin' at the Savoy," Luc and Birelli display an affinity for the legendary French jazzman's subtle swing and Gypsy modalities that goes well beyond a mere copycat gesture. The pair are equally masterful in turning pop songs like Cyndi Lauper's "Time after Time" and Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely" into gorgeous jazz balladry. Luc and Lagrene play off one another with an almost telepathic ease, and their delicate rapport lights up the pared-down instrumentation of two acoustic guitars, whether they're getting subtly funky on Wes Montgomery's "Road Song" or fingerpicking through the Beatles' "Blackbird." Jazz guitar aficionados may find some of Duet reminiscent of John McLaughlin, Al Dimeola, and Paco de Lucia's hugely popular Friday Night in San Francisco. Duet's appeal comes from making masterfully rendered, stripped-down music that shines. --Ezra Gale

Suzanne Nadine Vega (born July 11, 1959) is an American songwriter and singer known for her eclectic folk-inspired music.
Two of Vega's songs (both from her second album Solitude Standing, 1987) reached the top 10 of various international chart listings: "Luka" and "Tom's Diner". The latter was originally an a cappella version on Vega's album, which was then remade in 1990 as a dance track produced by the British dance production team DNA.

(Лично меня такой Stratovarius с красивым, мощным голосом Timo Kotipelto и виртуозной игрой Tolkki и Johansson-а вполне устраивает). В общем, первое впечатление было двоякое: с одной стороны – банальное "повторение пройденного", с другой стороны – техничный, красивый power metal опус, который с удовольствием слушаешь снова и снова. Можно отметить несколько вещей. Самая первая, "Eagleheart" – среднетемповая композиция, торжественно-заводная, оставила ощущение этакого "дежа вю" ("где-то-я-уже-это-слышал"... Где? Да ведь "Hunting High And Low" же!!!) Красивая и оригинальная "Fantasia", классический Stratovarius-"быстрячок" "Learning To Fly" – все эти песни укрепили положительное, в общем-то, впечатление от альбома. А вот инструменталка – "Stratofortress" – оказалась скучноватой. Следующие за ней первые секунды восьмого трека... ух, я тоже круто испугался. Нет, господа, это не дописка в виде Nightwish. Это заглавная композиция – "Elements". Ей пять баллов за красоту и эмоциональность. А всему диску – четверка (можно с плюсом или с минусом, но это уж кому как...) К прослушиванию рекомендуется всем поклонникам "самовариуса" и хорошего пауэр-металла.

Passion and Warfare is the second studio album by guitarist Steve Vai, released in September 1990 through Relativity and Epic Records. It has been certified Gold by the RIAA. It was written based on a series of dream sequences that Vai had when he was younger, and in the guitar music book of the album, Vai sums it up as "Jimi Hendrix meets Jesus Christ at a party that Ben Hur threw for Mel Blanc". It was all recorded in The Mothership studio at his home in the Hollywood Hills, a 1,600-square-foot (150 m2) building in which his guitar parts for Whitesnake's 1989 album Slip of the Tongue were also recorded. As such, Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale has small spoken parts on Passion and Warfare.

Produced by Kelly Jones and Jim Lowe, it was released on 14 March 2005 (22 March 2005 in the U.S.) on V2 Records. After the band's two previous albums, which contained much more acoustic music and an overall mellower sound, the band brought back the harder and more abrasive alternative rock and indie rock sound they were known for and songs such as "Doorman" and "Brother" are some of the band's most aggressive songs. A new wave influence is also prevalent on the album.

Just Enough Education to Perform is the third studio album by Welsh rock band Stereophonics. Released on 11 April 2001, the album topped the UK Albums Chart with 140,000 copies sold. and spawned three top-ten singles in the form of "Mr. Writer", "Have a Nice Day" and "Handbags and Gladrags".

Steptacular is the second studio album by British pop group Steps, released in the United Kingdom on 25 October 1999. It entered the UK Albums Chart at number one, where it remained on the position for three weeks, selling 260,000 copies in the same time frame. "Tragedy", "Love's Got a Hold on My Heart", "After the Love Has Gone", "Say You'll Be Mine", "Deeper Shade of Blue" and "When I Said Goodbye" were released as singles. Many of the songs also appeared on the track list of the US version of their debut album Step One.

Buzz is the third studio album by British pop group Steps, released on 25 October 2000. It reached number four on the UK Albums Chart. The album saw the group edging away from the PWL sound to a more mature sound, working with producers from Sweden and songwriters such as Cyndi Lauper. This more mature sound was also echoed in the new material from Gold:Greatest Hits.

Stomu Yamashta - is a Japanese percussionist, keyboardist and composer. He is best known for pioneering and popularising a fusion of traditional Japanese percussive music with Western progressive rock music in the 1960s and 1970s.
In the latter part of the 1970s, he led the supergroup "Go" with Steve Winwood, Al Di Meola, Klaus Schulze, and Michael Shrieve.
