Три года затишья из стана WHITE SKULL. Выходит новый альбом 'Under This Flag’. Медленно тлеющее вступление обрывается триумфальным маршем ударных, колкие гитары заводят традиционный рифф, аккомпанируя…оригинальной певице коллектива. Стартовая 'Hunted Down’ в другой подоплеке могла бы показаться немного банальной, за счет довольно однообразных гитарных партий и клишированного распевного припева. Но после десятилетнего перерыва прорезающий хрипотцой вокал «Сестры» даже столь односложную композицию превращает в хороший открывающий номер. Она вернулась, голос её не растерял ни индивидуальности, ни полноты, а вернувшись к своим исконным металлическим корням, группа подготовила более чем благоприятную почву для реюньона.

Неплохой старт для талантливой начинающей экспериментальной группы. The Unforgiving ist das fünfte Album der niederländischen Band Within Temptation. Es wurde im März 2011 durch Roadrunner Records veröffentlicht.

Im Gegensatz zum Vorgänger The Heart of Everything sollte The Unforgiving etwas moderner gestaltet werden. Dafür wurde – auch für die Texte – ein comicartiges Gesamtkonzept ausgewählt. Der Musikstil unterscheidet sich nicht wesentlich von den Vorgängeralben, allerdings ist der Gesang etwas rauer. Die Songs haben meist eingängige Hooklines und weisen zum Teil, wie bei der ersten Singleauskopplung Faster Elemente von Hardrock und Pop auf. Die erneut, wie auf den beiden Vorgängeralben von Daniel Gibson übernommene Produktion wurde als „High End“ beschrieben. Zu den einzelnen Songs wurden Kurzfilme und ein Comic-Buch herausgebracht.

Der Name des Albums bezieht sich auf die Antike Mythe der Hydra. Hydra is the sixth studio album by Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation. It was released on January 31, 2014 in Europe and on February 4, 2014 in North America. The album contains guest appearances by singer Howard Jones (ex-Killswitch Engage), rapper Xzibit, metal vocalist Tarja Turunen (ex-Nightwish) and alternative rock singer Dave Pirner (Soul Asylum). The first single, "Paradise (What About Us?)", was released on September 27, 2013, and featured Turunen as guest vocalist. The second single, "Dangerous", was released on December 20, in which Jones provided the male vocals.

The album was met with generally favorable reviews and commercial success, increasing the band's popularity outside the Netherlands. Metal Hammer considered the album important both for Within Temptation's career and the development of the symphonic metal genre as a whole, a position shared by AllMusic. Only one week after its release, the album reached gold status in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Finland, later also achieving platinum status in Germany and double platinum in their homecountry.

The album spawned three singles that helped increasing the band's popularity in Europe, all of them achieving commercial success in their homeland and several other European countries. The first single, "Stand My Ground", was released in November 2004 and reached the fourth position on the Dutch Top 40. The second single, "Memories", was released on 31 January 2005. The third and final single, "Angels", was released on 13 June 2005. In order to promote the album, the band commenced their The Silent Force Tour in July 2004, playing throughout Europe and also having one concert in Dubai.

The album originated a total of five singles. The first and most successful one, "What Have You Done", was released on 14 February and was met with moderate chart success across Europe. The second single was "The Howling", released on 1 May exclusively in the United States. The third single, "Frozen", was released in Europe on 11 June. The fourth single, "All I Need", was released on 11 November. In order to promote the album the band embarked on their first world tour, entitled The Heart of Everything World Tour, visiting countries in Europe, North America, South America, and Asia. The track "Forgiven" was released as a single on 12 September 2008 for promoting the live album Black Symphony, recorded during the tour.
