High Voltage was edited firstly in Australia in 1975 and later for the rest of the world but only containing two songs from the Aussie original tracklist and refilling with songs from their second album: T.N.T. This is the Japanese edition with the "international" tracklist.

Production of the album was difficult, singer Marian Gold would later say "the production saw Alphaville in the horrors of permanent crisis. There was an ongoing war between [the band]. ...
