Robin Ericsson (vocals/bass) stated: “We’ve been writing songs for this album on and off since the release of We Don’t Belong in 2013. I think we had 16-17 songs that we chose from, and recorded 14. The funny thing is that we ended up putting all 14 songs on the album because they’re all so freakin’ good! Здесь почти все «хитовые» вещи. Особое место занимают баллады: ”Man of Sorrows”, ”Arc of Space”, ”Omega”, “Taken the Queen”. Заводная гитарная дуэль Адриана Смита и Роя Зета поражает своим динамизмом, невероятными риффами и особой душевностью. Кстати, звучание гитар отличается на разных треках. Гитарное рубилово под Black Sabbat на “Magician” – одно, на вышедшем из под пира Смита “Welcome to the Pit” - другое, но в этом вся и прелесть. Один трэк совершенно не похож на другой. Альбом в целом не похож ни на одну из работ Брюса, да и Смит играет здесь довольно жестковато для него же самого, почти не используя примочек (сравните его манеру и звук на его собственных работах в “Psycho Motel”и “ASAP” и вы поразитесь столь гениальному несоответствию, как будто играет не один и тот же человек). Сложно предсказать, каким бы был “Accident of Birth” без Смита. Да, воистину «старый конь лучше новой пони».

Более чем десятилетние труды BG воздались сторицей - их альбом был признан критиками одним из лучших “металлических” дисков за прошлый год. За группой уже давно было замечено, что чем дальше, тем больше они отходили от тяготения к speed’у. В итоге на “NIM-E” эти суровые немецкие парни пришли к достаточно любопытному сплаву speed’a, power и характерными ритмическими сбивками и мелодическими ходами из progressiv’a. Also in 1955, B.B. King recorded "Every Day I Have the Blues". King attributed the song's appeal to arranger Maxwell Davis: "He [Davis] wrote a chart of 'Every Day I Have the Blues' with a crisp and relaxed sound I'd never heard before. I liked it so well, I made it my theme ... ... The induction statement includes: "Everyday I Have the Blues" is one of the most ubiquitous of all blues songs, a required number in the repertoires of the countless bar and lounge bands of many genres. Its late entry into the Blues Hall of Fame reflects the fact that no strong consensus emerged as to which of the hundreds of recorded versions was most deserving. But it often is associated with B.B. King, and so the first of his own many versions gets the honors.

Biddu Orchestra, which started an orchestral disco trend in Britain and Europe with 1975 hits "Summer of '42" and Blue Eyed Soul, his solo albums eventually sold 40 million copies worldwide. He also launched the careers of other British disco stars such as Tina Charles, helping her sell 36 million records within a few years, and Jimmy James; scored soundtracks for several British films such as The Stud (1978); and produced a hit song for late French singer Claude François. Biddu also experimented with electronic disco and Hi-NRG music from the mid-1970s, and influenced British New Wave bands such as The Buggles, founded by two of his former session musicians Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes.

Третья пластинка Слепого Стража стала в те времена настоящим откровением и идеалом спид пауэр металла. Это сейчас мы все наслушались такого что и вообразить то трудно, но вот тогда «Истории Из Сумеречного Мира» были каким-то волшебным полотном, поражающим своим эпическим содержанием, и я с этим полностью согласен. В особенности удивляла каждая композиция, в которой можно было встретить, кроме резких ритмических сбивок и техничного спид металла, несколько разных мелодий сменяющихся одна другой в пределах одного трека. Хоры, которые приобрели величественный и оперный оттенок, радуют своим присутствием, как в самых главных припевах, так и отчасти в куплетах.

Любопытной в том смысле, что она сама с интересом пытается дойти до собственных границ и перешагнуть через них. Как было заявлено, «Голубой» станет продолжением «Красного», должен стать, ибо группе показалось, что она не смогла раскрыть всего, что могла, в этом звучании. Что будет дальше – не знает пока никто. Даже если ничего не будет, этого достаточно. «Red Album» - интересный кусок рока (скорее, хард-рока) для гурманов, снобов и тихопомешанных.

Самый интересный альбом Брюса Дикинсона. Хотя в мелодическом и техническом плане это прямое продолжение идей «Accident Of Birth», но вот некоторые нововведения очень радуют. Самыми великолепными песнями я бы назвал заглавную полу балладу «Chemical Wedding», мощный боевик «Book Of Thel», «The Tower» - интересную проекцию и вариант старой мэйденовской и, заметьте, классической песни «Wrathchild». Несколько двойственное впечатление оставляет открывающий тяжёлый номер «King In Crimson» с нарочито грубым и грязным звуком, но с сразу узнаваемой мелодикой и атмосферой задающей тон для всего альбома,
