Назвать здешнюю музыку дэт-н-ролом не будет преувеличением или попыткой хоть как-то охарактеризовать творящееся на альбоме. Да, это действительно рок-н-ролльный вариант дэт-метала, стандартно структурированный по подобию обычного рока. Неувядающая десятилетиями система "куплет-припев-куплет-припев-соло-припев" обогащается здесь чисто экстремально-металлическими фишками: низким гроулингом, двойной бас-бочкой и тремоло. Поэтому слушается все это "безобразие" с неиссякаемым интересом.

Год записи и участие в создании альбома двух Харрисов (Mick Harris и Mitch Harris) наталкивают на совершенно определённые размышления. Собственно, это оно и есть - то, о чём вы подумали. Размеренно-вязкий старошкольный death/grind начинает практически сразу елозить по ушам. Другого ожидать не приходится, но это и не нужно в контексте данного релиза. Можно, конечно, провести параллель с "Harmony Corruption", и это будет кстати, но мне хочется указать на определённые связки с австрийцами Pungent Stench. С творчеством европейцев материал альбома роднит дёрганная ритмическая основа, проявлений коей было не так много на ровном релизе "Напалмов". Сравнивать же сию запись с ранними творениями англичан не совсем правильно. В общем, схематика сюжетной линии типична - массивные проутюженные риффы разгоняются и утопают в накрывающей их волне грайндовой экспрессии.

Musically Restless Heart features a more subdued sound compared to Whitesnake's previous two albums. It is also the only full-length Whitesnake studio album to feature guitarist Adrian Vandenberg throughout, despite having been a member of the group since 1987.
