Ice on Fire is the nineteenth studio album by British musician Elton John. It was released on 4 November 1985 through Geffen Records in North America and The Rocket Record Company elsewhere. Stemming from a desire for a change in sound, John fired the rhythm section of Dee Murray and Nigel Olsson, both of whom had performed on the preceding two albums, and opted to use multiple lineups of session musicians, including Fred Mandel, David Paton, and Charlie Morgan, as well as guest appearances by Sister Sledge, George Michael, and members of Queen. The album was recorded at The Sol in Cookham, Berkshire, and was John's first since Blue Moves (1976) to be produced by Gus Dudgeon.

Das Album wurde mit Chris Thomas in den AIR Studios, Montserrat,[1] sowie Pathé Marconi, Paris eingespielt. Es enthält auch Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny), ein Tribut an John Lennon. Dieser war auch von Geffen für Double Fantasy unter Vertrag genommen worden. Auf dem Album singt Elton John tiefer als auf den vorhergehenden, etwa bei Songs wie Blue Eyes, Princess, Ball and Chain und Spiteful Child. Legal Boys wurde von Elton John und Tim Rice geschrieben, der später auch die Texte für The Lion King und The Road to El Dorado schrieb. The album was John's first to be produced by Chris Thomas, who would go on to produce many of John's albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s, as well as John and Clive Franks. In addition to material written and recorded specifically for the album, multiple tracks originated from the sessions for John's previous album, 21 at 33 (1980).

Австрийская симфо-пауэр группа с женским вокалом. Образовались они в конце 90-х, возможно, пытаясь повторить успех Nightwish (даже обложки рисовал один и тот же художник). К счастью, прямого копирования не получилось (если судить по данному альбому). Основным автором в группе является гитарист/клавишник Ланвалл. Вокалистка Сабина Эдельсбахер обладает приятным, пусть и не выдающимся голосом. В целом, музыка не такая претенциозная, как у финнов, но отнюдь не прямолинейная и простая. На альбоме довольно много достаточно сложных композиций, впрочем, как и красивых баллад.
