Один из самых масштабных альбомов FW. Он представляет из себя одну композицию, разделенную на 12 частей, без названий, идущих нон-стопом. Среднетемповое, а чаще даже медленное повествование пластинки привлекает прекрасными мелодиями и загадочным, "луцидным" настроением. Здесь нет длинных техничных наворотов, которыми часто грешат Dream Theater (Кевин Мур, экс-клавишник последних, играет на этом CD). Но FW никогда не тяготели к "запилам". Альбом цепляет именно тем, чем FW всегда были сильны: мелодизмом и необычной атмосферой. Я назову стиль этой пластинки "atmospheric progressive-metal" :-) В этот раз FW может и не сказали ничего откровенно нового, просто это замечательная музыка, чем чаще которую слушаешь, тем больше открываешь в ней новых нюансов.

Comfort in Sound is the fourth studio album by the Welsh rock band Feeder, released on 21 October 2002 and also the first to be released by the band after the suicide of drummer Jon Lee earlier in the year. The album was recorded at RAK Studios in London during most of 2002, and was produced by Gil Norton.
The band returned to live performance after Lee's suicide, playing low-key slots at various festivals in the United Kingdom, before releasing the single "Come Back Around" and then the album. Three further singles—"Just the Way I'm Feeling", "Forget About Tomorrow" and "Find the Colour"—followed the album's release. The album received positive reviews from the music press and was received well by the public, reaching number six on the UK Albums Chart. Although charting one place lower than predecessor Echo Park, Comfort in Sound had a much stronger chart run of 36 weeks on the weekly top 75 album chart, in comparison to the nine weeks of Echo Park.

Ain't Misbehavin' is a 1929 stride jazz/early swing composition with 32 bars in AABA measure with a slow-to-moderate pace. With lyrics by Andy Razaf and score by Thomas "Fats" Waller and Harry Brooks, the number was created specifically as a theme song for the Razaf/Waller/Brooks off-Broadway musical comedy Connie's Hot Chocolates. In a 1941 interview with Eddie "Rochester" Anderson, Fats said the song was written while "lodging" in alimony prison, and that is why he was not "misbehaving".

Ныне группа Fates Warning известна тем, что одной из первых начала повторять эксперимент группы Rush по утяжелению прогрессивного рока, но первый альбом выпустила в стиле тяжёлого металла. Должен признаться, не самая оригинальная работа из прослушанных мною, даже в жанре хэви-метал. Даже несмотря на то, что альбом по сути является демо-записью, качество записи и мастеринга является более, чем приемлемым. Вокал напоминает смесь Кая Хансена и Майкла Киске из незабвенной немецкой группы Helloween. Тем не менее, тембр довольно-таки приятен, хотя и не блещет интересными находками. Инструментальная часть представляет собой действительно среднетемповый хэви с иногда корявыми партиями соло-гитары

Увидевшие свет в виде двухдискового издания полтора часа «Senyaan» включают: дэт с фолком, дэт с трэшем, дэт женским вокалом и дэт с думовыми нотками, дэт с клавишными и акустикой, дэт суровый и дэт мелодичный, и, наконец, сам дэт техничный, которым чехи увлечены более всего иного. Звучат плоды столь амбициозных экспериментов, как ни странно, лаконичней, чем у тех же Kathaarsys.
