Allegria is a compilation album by the Gipsy Kings, released in 1990 for US audience. It is a merged album of the original Allegria album from 1982 and Luna de Fuego from 1983. The decision was also made to delete four tracks from the two European recordings, possibly to make the double recording fit onto one CD. The four songs which didn't make the cut were "Djobi Djoba", "Pharaon", "Recuerda", and "Gipsyrock".

From Genesis to Revelation is the debut studio album by the English rock band Genesis, released in March 1969 on Decca Records. The album originated from a collection of demos recorded in 1967 while the members of Genesis were pupils of Charterhouse in Godalming, Surrey. It caught the attention of Jonathan King who named the group, organised deals with his publishing company and Decca, and studio time at Regent Sound Studios to record a series of singles and a full album. A string section arranged and conducted by Arthur Greenslade was added later on some songs. By the time Genesis had finished recording, John Silver had replaced original drummer Chris Stewart.

Foxtrot is the fourth studio album by the English progressive rock band Genesis, released in October 1972 on Charisma Records. It features their longest recorded song; the 23-minute epic "Supper's Ready".
The album was recorded following the tour in support of their previous album, Nursery Cryme (1971), which saw them gain popularity, including a well-received slot at the Lincoln Great Western Festival. The album was written over the summer of 1972 and combined songs that had already been performed live with new material worked out in jam sessions. Recording began in August with John Anthony, but sessions were prone to tension and disagreements. After a short Italian tour, sessions resumed with Dave Hitchcock taking over production duties. The cover was the final Genesis work to be designed by Paul Whitehead, featuring a fox wearing a red dress. Frontman Peter Gabriel wore the dress and a fox's head on stage for the following tour, which gathered press attention and greatly improved the group's profile.

Duke is the tenth studio album by English rock band Genesis, released in March 1980 on Charisma Records. The album followed a period of inactivity for the band in early 1979. Phil Collins moved to Vancouver, Canada, in an effort to salvage his failing first marriage, while Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford recorded solo albums. Collins returned to the UK after his marriage ended and wrote a significant amount of material, some of which was used for Duke and some was later reworked for his first solo album, Face Value. Duke contained a mix of individually-written songs and tracks that evolved from jam sessions in mid-1979, while recording took place at the end of the year. The break in activity rejuvenated the band, and they found the album an easy one to work on.

After their 1980 tour in support of their previous album, Duke (1980), the band took a break before they reconvened in 1981 to write and record a new album. С технической стороны альбом получился не очень качественным по звучанию, так как после его записи не предпринималось никаких попыток студийного редактирования, которое применяется обычно в случаях выпуска концертных альбомов. И тем не менее альбом слушается прекрасно именно по той причине, что на нем хорошо отражена отмосфера концертного звучания группы тех лет. Несмотря на обилие критики, альбом продавался с поистине ураганной скоростью, что потребовало впоследствии множества его переизданий. Сразу же после выхода "Live Album" достиг 5-й позиции в Billboard 200. Через неделю после выпуска он стал золотым, а в 1991 году получил статус дважды мультипалатинового.

На мой взгляд, очень и очень интересная работа группы, имеющая в себе черты как столь восхваляемых здесь альбомов второй половины 90-х, так и релизов 80-х. По музыке - все тот же спид метал (хотя пауэра я тут почему-то не услышал), но более мелодичный, чем раньше. Если "The Reaper" по материалу был, по сути, продолжением старых идей, то "Symphony Of Death" выгодно отличается как от слишком затянутых последующих дисков, так и от сырых ранних работ. Очень крепкий, качественный альбом (вернее даже мини-пластинка), претендующий на звание одного из лучших у группы.

Неплохой альбом... Но конечно же весь этот пафос "Американский стиль рок-н-ролла" смешон... Думаю, в 1983-м году был миллион таких неплохих альбомов у миллиона разных групп, и много просто отличных альбомов. Поэтому конечно же не было смысла продолжать всю эту нудятину, и "Whats Funk" оказался прощальным.
