Дебютный альбом этой группы произвёл на меня неизгладимое впечатление, хотя понял я его не с перового и даже не со второго раза. Да,именно так и должен звучать настоящий симфонический металл! Красивые, атмосферные оркестровки, в меру мощные гитары, сильный вокал Хелены Михаельсен, мрачноватая атмосфера, качественный саунд - всё это есть на дебютном альбоме группы Imperia. Работа серьёзная, требует внимательного прослушивания, а немного банальная обложка пусть вас не смущает. Из композиций я бы выделил: "The Ancient Dance Of Qetesh", "Escape", "Into Paradise", "Scared for Love". В общем, это мастхэв для фанатов sympho metal, в особенности для поклонников Therion, After Forever, Epica. Для ознакомления со стилем этот альбом также пригоден. На данный момент эта работа входит в десятку моих любимых металлических альбомов.

When the Buena Vista Social Club album was released to great acclaim in 1997, it revived the careers of quite a few incredibly talented aging Cuban musicians. Like Ibrahim Ferrer, most of those musicians (who had been legendary in the '40s through the '70s) hadn't been performing professionally in decades. With the success of the Buena Vista Social Club, everything changed; they toured the globe, and plans for follow-up albums followed. Ibrahim Ferrer's was the second of what became a line of Buena Vista releases, all hoping to cash in on the success of the first. Ferrer's album is pleasant, the kind of album you could put on during brunch on a sunny morning. The album features many classic Cuban compositions. Original arrangers, musicians, and bandleaders were involved whenever possible. One standout is "Mami Me Gusto," a rolling upbeat tune by the legendary Cuban composer/bandleader Arsenio Rodriguez. On that tune Ferrer is lively and loose, and he is joined by Rodriguez's original pianist, the masterful Ruben Gonzales. The rest of the album is nice, but rarely as inspired or joyous as the original Buena Vista release. This is a much more romantic sounding album and on the right tunes, like "Aquellos Ojos Verdes," they really hit the mark; Ferrer shines and Gonzales sends glistening piano lines cascading down the keys. At age 63-plus, Ferrer was long overdue for a debut album, and as a result the disc communicates a feel of easy satisfaction. If you're looking for classy cocktail party music that will hold the attention of music fans, and won't bother the uninterested, look no further.

Unfinished Monkey Business is the debut solo album by Ian Brown released in February 1998 via Polydor Records. The album was self-financed and produced by Brown, and was his first album release since the break-up of The Stone Roses in October 1996. Ex-Roses members Mani, Nigel Ipinson, Aziz Ibrahim and Robbie Maddix helped pen and perform the instruments on many of the album's tracks. "Ice Cold Cube", which premiered at The Stone Roses final concert, was first released on this album.

Переработать сладж под углом пост-рока могло бы показаться задачей не из легких, если бы эта переработка не была подготовлена творчеством предшествующих групп и собственно прошлыми альбомами Isis, но здесь дело пошло дальше – в пост-роке оказалась растворена вся металическая оболочка. Получившийся состав со сладжевым осадком равномерно разлит в формы, коих на «Panopticon» 7. Композиции завораживают своей эмоциональной тонкостью и мелодической отделкой, а главное – своим развитием во времени и даже пространстве

'Come Clarity' - это уже не In Flames. Это их реинкорнация в мелодик-модерн-металлическом ключе, очень обширном и щедром на экспирементальное творчество стиле. Эта работа не такая среднетемповая и электронная, как 'Soundtrack To Your Escape', их предыдущий альбом, новое творение куда сильнее в плане музыки - всё получилось очень скоростным и прямолинейным. In the Fishtank 14 is a collaborative EP from Isis and Aereogramme. It is the fourteenth installment of the collaboration project by Konkurrent, and was released in September 2006. Rock Sound ranked it as the 39th best album of 2006 in its yearly rundown. Конечно, группа воспользовалась всеми своими преимуществами, и результат перед вами. В нем соединены мощные и яростные черты, death metal, мелодичность и даже некоторая эпичность. Запись сделана очень хорошо. Скоростные гитарные риффы, потусторонний вокал. Интро сделал Morpheus из Limbonic Art, а дополнительный вокал - Fredrika из Anata. Для дебютной работы альбом и звучит хорошо, и может похвастаться весьма адекватным материалом.

Второй альбом Impellitteri уже с Робом Роком в качестве вокалиста оказался обычной, средней работой. Среднестатистический образец американского хард-рока, не обремененный хитовостью (хотя, пожалуй, можно выделить заглавную вещь), но и не напрягающий. Стоит отметить, что альбом записан лучше и с более актуальным саундом, чем "Stand In Line".

Год две тысячи тринадцатый принес нам четвертый студийный альбом датчан Illnath. Для тех, кто еще не забыл эту некогда славную группу - событие неожиданное, ведь "Third Act in the Theatre of Madness" вышел всего за полтора года до "4 Shades of Me", а такой минимальный разрыв между релизами для них - дело неслыханное.Однако объяснение этому факту можно найти легко - выпуск предыдущих альбомов постоянно затягивался по причинам разборок, с выпускающим лейблом ли, или между собственно участниками группы. Единственное, конечно, хотелось бы, чтобы альбом был более похож на так полюбившийся мне «Panopticon» своей атмосферой, но видимо у музыкантов мнение несколько другое. Но это отнюдь не делает альбом хуже.
