It documents some of Hendrix's performance at the Isle of Wight Festival on August 31, 1970, his last official performance in England before his death less than three weeks later on September 18, 1970.

The album, re-titled as Something to Say, was originally released on CD in 1990 by Castle Communications and in 1998 a remastered edition of the album was released worldwide on A&M Records. Alan White, soon to be Yes' drummer, played on this album alongside Jim Keltner, after he was featured on George Harrison's All Things Must Pass and John Lennon's Live Peace in Toronto, Imagine and Sometime in New-York City albums. Conrad Isidore played with Steve Stills and Hummingbird, among others. Percussionist Rebop Kwaku Baah was known for his work with Traffic and the German band Can.

The Cry of Love is the first posthumous album of music by the American rock singer-songwriter and guitarist Jimi Hendrix. Recorded primarily in 1970, it features new material that Hendrix was working on for his planned fourth studio album before his death later that year. While most of the songs were included on proposed track listings by Hendrix, the final selection was made by recording engineer Eddie Kramer and drummer Mitch Mitchell, with input from manager Michael Jeffery. Hendrix, Kramer, and Mitchell are credited as the album's producers, with Jeffery as the executive producer.

It was released in October 1971 through Reprise Records, and was produced by Mitch Mitchell, Eddie Kramer, and John Jansen, with Hendrix receiving a production credit as well. Midnight Lightning is a posthumous compilation album by American rock guitarist Jimi Hendrix. It was released in November 1975 by Reprise Records in the US and Polydor Records in the UK. It was the second to be produced by Alan Douglas and Tony Bongiovi and contains demo-type recordings that were overdubbed with musicians who had never played with Hendrix. Despite including reworkings of the popular live songs "Hear My Train" and "Machine Gun", the album was not as well received as its predecessor, peaking at numbers 43 in the US and 46 in the UK.

It was the fourth and last Hendrix studio album released posthumously by manager Michael Jeffery. The album features a collection of outtakes and jams, with the exception of "The Stars That Play with Laughing Sam's Dice" which is the sole authorized track by Hendrix, in a new stereo mix by Eddie Kramer.

Blue Wild Angel: Live at the Isle of Wight is a posthumous live album by Jimi Hendrix released on November 12, 2002. The album documents Hendrix's last U.K. live performance at the Isle of Wight Festival on August 31, 1970, three weeks before his death. The set list for the concert contained songs from the original Experience albums, as well as new songs. Some were previously available on Isle of Wight (1971) and Live Isle of Wight '70 (1991). "Power to Love (Message of Love)", "Midnight Lightning", and "Foxy Lady" released in the US on the three record set The First Great Rock Festivals of the 70s: Isle of Wight/Atlanta Pop Festival" released on Columbia Records in 1971.

Сольный альбом легендарного вокалиста после недолгого затишья оказался, как и ожидалось предсказуемым, качественным и со множеством великолепных мелодий. Этот альбом как никакой другой (альбом Тернера) больше походит по стилистическому звучанию на классический репертуар Deep Purple (хотя обычно "маэстро" всегда тяготел к еще одной памятной группе с его участием - Rainbow). Некоторой отличительной чертой этого альбома является некоторая мрачноватость в текстах (но это будет исправлено уже на последующем сольнике JLT, где все будет выполнено в позитивной тональности). Говорить что-то более конкретное о музыке не имеет смысла, Тернер себе не изменит, и рассчитывать всегда приходится на добротный материал с избыточными классическими хардовыми аккордами, по большей степени в исполнении японского гитариста-виртуоза Akira K., который отлично подражает манере игры Блэкмора, выдает запилы в духе а-ля Малмстин, привнося в музыку свои элеметы, и этот букет наравне с вокалом Тернера звучит очень убеждающе. Одним словом - образец классического хард-рока, от одного из самых лучших представителей жанра.
