Нельзя топтаться на одном и том же месте или седлать одного и того же коня: рано или поздно несчастный конь отбросит копыта! Примерно так подумал Дэйв и создал данный альбом. И правильно сделал, что, предчувствуя негодование старых тру-фэнов, не побоялся поэкспериментировать со стилем. Стиль альбома "Countdown to Extinction" - где-то на стыке хэви/трэш. И я не знаю альбома, лучшего в этой стилистике (разве что следующий альбом тех же Megadeth может потягаться с ним).

Да, уж.. Эти ребята не забывают свои народные традии.Практически все альбомы группы - Viking Black Metal (и именно такими мы их и знаем), ан нет - они могут и так!..Так, как в этом альбомчике:-) В котором, однако, нет-нет, да и проскочит что-нибудь эдакое:-)))А так - практически сплошная акустика, проникновенный вокал.. В общем, альбом отличный!

Однако фактически, по стилистике это произведение искусства необозримо далеко выходит как за рамки привычного блэк-метал, так и за рамки традиционной классики.Завораживающая атмосферой импрессионизма музыка: галюциногенная, мягко переливающаяся, как бы "бархатная" гитарная стена с вкраплениями минорных трелей французской гармошки, скорбные стоны фортепиано, женские отрешенное бормотание, истеричные вопли С.Козака. Вывод: высший бал, шедевр на все времена, навечно вошедший в сокровищницу мировой музыки.

Hollie and Keith Kenniff, the husband and wife team of Mint Julep, have been hard at work individually over the last few years. Hollie's solo album, The Gathering Dawn, was released last year, and Keith has been busy with his two side projects, Helios and Goldmund. The work Hollie and Keith do individually usually veers toward more ambient, experimental styles, but Mint Julep has always been more of an accessible synthpop act. So it's no surprise that Stray Fantasies, their first album since 2016's Broken Devotion, is a full-fledged return to the retro-leaning, low-key indie dance rhythms of their previous work.

It spent four weeks at No. 1 on the US Adult Contemporary chart. Paul Carrack sings lead vocals on the track.
