The first members of the band were Kurt Hauenstein (Mini Moog, vocals), Hans Ochs (guitar), Ken Taylor (bass guitar), Lothar Krell (keyboards), Peter Koch (percussion), Jürgen Zöller (drums) and the singers Cee Cee Cobb and Jean Graham. After Ken Taylor left the band in 1979, Kurt Hauenstein returned to his original music instrument, the bass guitar. Later, Bernadet Onore Eben and Jessica Hauenstein, the daughter of Kurt Hauenstein, joined the group as backing vocal singers. From 2006 Raimund Bretterbauer joined as his Sound Engineer and Co Producer.

Perils of the Deep Blue is the sixth studio album by the Norwegian gothic metal band Sirenia. It was released on June 28, 2013, in Europe, July 1 in the United Kingdom and July 9 in North America by Nuclear Blast.

Produced by Morten Veland, it was mastered and mixed by Endre Kirkesola at Dub Studios in Norway.

The 13th Floor is the fourth studio album by Norwegian gothic metal band Sirenia and their first with Spanish vocalist Ailyn. It was released on 23 January 2009, through Nuclear Blast. The band said "The album features guest appearances by Jan Kenneth Barkved (who had also made some guest appearances on our debut, [and] French violin player Stephanie Valentin adds to the sound along with the choir that has been a part of our sound since the very beginning." The album was released in three formats: CD, CD-Digi and box set. The box set edition was restricted to 500 copies worldwide. The download-only single, "The Path to Decay", was released on 26 December 2008.

Однако истина оказывается даже не посредине, а находится в совсем иной плоскости т.к. группа играет самый настоящий промозглый, ледяной, депрессивно- суицидальный black metal с безотрадной, траурной и человеконенавистнической атмосферой. При этом сборник состоит не из "песен", а включает шесть длящихся около 10 минут каждая, медитативных композиций, пять из которых полностью инструментальные. Невзирая на предельную минималистичность ( не исключено, что в сборник вошли репетиционные записи), музыка обладает некой притягательностью и неотвратимо погружает слушателя в состояние горя, депрессии и одиночества.

Один из лучших образцов пауэр-трэша конца 80- х. Стилистика Sanctuary напоминает работы Iced Earth середины 90-х или же группы Heathen. Надрывный высокий вокал Уорррела Дейна и сложнейшие риффы дуэта гитаристов не оставляют равнодушными любителей как трэша, так и прогрессивного рока. В композиции "Termination Force" группа, наряду с Fates Warning периода записи альбома "No Exit", вторгается на техно-трэшевую территорию. Но Sanctuary ни в коем случае не заставляет слушателя блуждать в дебрях техно-трэша с его невоспроизводимым музыкальным рисунком. На "Refuge Denied" вы найдете и прекрасные мелодии, и отличные гитарные соло, и cover-версию группы Jefferson Airplane под названием "White Rabbit", очень удачно вписавшуюся в музыку Sanctuary. Музыканты не загружают слушателя 10-12-минутными эпиками, характерными для групп, работающих на стыке прогрессивного рока и хэви-метал. Средняя продолжительность песни Sanctuary 4 минуты.

Собственно, сам альбом являет собой закономерный итог многолетнего творческого пути группы, поиска своего стиля и оттачивания исполнительского и композиторского мастерства. Новый альбом звучит очень зрело, увесисто и сочно. Именно за такое звучание многим в своё время и полюбилась музыка SepticFlesh. "The Great Mass" вобрал в себя все достоинства двух своих предшественников (2008 и 2003)
