Сразу видно, что те три года, которые прошли с момента выхода предыдущего альбома “Ihr Wolltet Spass" (2003), не прошли для ребят даром. Новый альбом сильно отличается от предыдущего, а уж если сравнивать его с одноименным дебютником, то вообще можно подумать, что играют две разные группы. Если альбом “Tanzwut" в значительной степени фолковый и состоит практически целиком из волынок на электронной подложке, то на “Schattenreiter" мы сталкиваемся с эдаким коктейлем из электронных ритмов, фолковых мелодий и жестких гитар, за счет которых альбом приобретает тяжелое индустриальное звучание в духе Rammstein. Я бы сказала, что это самый эмоциональный альбом группы, в нем чувствуется какой-то напор, а временами даже агрессия. А теперь прибавьте к этому коктейлю еще и звучание настоящего церковного органа, и невероятную хитовость практически всех композиций

СУПЕР! Других слов просто нет. Самая лучшая команда 98/99 года из готик-дума. Альбом замечательный. Оригинальный готик-дум украшенный разнообразными "фишками" по полной программе - хоры, орган, скрипка, разнообразные синтезаторные штучки. Надо отметить , что хоровое пение здесь пришлось очень кстати. Но есть одно НО - мне показалось, что за всем этим разнообразием забыли самое главное - мелодию. В предыдущем альбоме (Widow`s Weeds ) хоть и не было такого отличного саунда , но там можно было заметить очень хорошие мелодии. После первого прослушивания Beyond The Veil я не запомнил ни одной вещи (хотя нет, Angina и 3й трек запали в память :-) - но поставив диск, не выключал до конца. Потом, конечно, после внимательного прослушивания он не казался таким ошеломляющим, но первое впечатление было просто потрясающее. Всем не просто рекоммендую, а настаиваю на прослушивании этого альбома :-)

Live Peace in Toronto 1969 is a live album by the Plastic Ono Band, released in December 1969 on Apple Records. Recorded at the Toronto Rock and Roll Revival festival, it was the first live album released by any member of the Beatles separately or together. John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono received a phone call from the festival's promoters John Brower and Kenny Walker, and then assembled a band on very short notice for the festival, which was due to start the following day. The band included Eric Clapton, Klaus Voormann, and drummer Alan White. The group flew from London and had brief unamplified rehearsals on the plane before appearing on the stage to perform several songs; one of which, "Cold Turkey", was first performed live at the festival. After returning home, Lennon mixed the album in a day.

Для меня этот релиз выделяется прежде всего одним из лучших гроулингов в готик-думе. Особенно мощно он звучит в таких вещах как "When Silent Cries", "The Burden" и других. Сама же по себе работа является этаким мейнстримовым проектом популярного течения, хотя по сравнению, например с классикой стиля - Theatre Of Tradegy "Velvet Darkness..." думовая составляющая не так ярко выражена и присутствует только на нескольких вещах. Еще хочу выделить трек с акустической гитарой в середине альбома - очень даже неплохо вышло.

Toni Braxton received mixed to positive reviews from music critics. Ron Wynn from AllMusic said that the album showcased Braxton as "an elegant and earthy songstress, nicely balancing those seemingly divergent sentiments [...] Braxton's husky, enticing voice sounds hypnotic, dismayed, and disillusioned [...] but she's never out of control, indignant, or so anguished and hurt that she fails to retain her dignity." Los Angeles Times critic Connie Johnson wrote: "Sounding like an unlikely hybrid of Phyllis Hyman, Anita Baker and Tracy Chapman, Braxton's sultry, earthy delivery makes her a standout in today's R&B arena." Similarly, People found that "when Braxton slides into her lower register she echoes Anita Baker, and when she skips around the higher notes there's also a hint of Whitney Houston. The influences are there, but Toni Braxton is most definitely her own woman. On this sophisticated, stylish and soulful album, she slates her case."

Secrets received generally positive reviews from music critics. "Rain upon the Impure" – cамое хтоническое и соответственно самое лучшее творение The Ruins Of Beverast по той простой причине, что именно эта эстетика предельной грязи, глухости, сырости, удушливой атмосферы более всего подходит творчеству фон Майленвальда. Тут все сделано в лучшем виде: длиннющие трэки, мрачные торжественные вступления, ожесточенные скоростные преследования. Гитары являются нам в виде грозной жужжащей массы, ударные иногда тоже сливаются в могущее месиво бластбита, но все работает на творческую вселенную немца, создает временной и пространственный колорит.
