Sometimes, when some bands deal with old Metal ways, they can find something interesting to show. There’s no formula to reach this point, just the idea that you must sound alive and with energy. Having this in mind, we can say that the Californian band WHITE WIZZARD is really a very good band, as we hear on “Infernal Overdrive”. They take influences from bands as ICED EARTH, SANCTUARY, and something from NWOBHM (especially IRON MAIDEN) and earlier Power Metal, and their musical work reminds a lot the way of what I always call US Metal, the way the North American bands of traditional Heavy Metal plays. Their musical genre is nothing new at all, but in their hands, it sounds so good to our ears that we can’t resist their melodies.

Wet Wet Wet have officially released the 30th Anniversary Edition of their debut album Popped In Souled Out which originally launched in 1987.

Wind Rose already made waves in the metal scene with their debut Shadows Over Lothadruin, and Wardens of the West Wind keeps this tornado of momentum up. This is entertaining power metal with reasonable lactose levels, and it feels like these guys are on the brink of something excellent.

Just Testing is the tenth studio album by the British rock band Wishbone Ash, released in 1980. It was to be bass guitarist and vocalist Martin Turner's last appearance on a Wishbone Ash album, until the release of Nouveau Calls in 1987.

Either the mid-'70s or the addition of Ted Turner's replacement, Laurie Wisefield, brought about a severe identity crisis for Wishbone Ash. No longer were they the self-conscious band that evolved from their blues-based debut to their prog precursor Pilgrimage to their progressive tour de force Argus. While Wishbone Ash was still a guitar-oriented band, Locked In provided no originality and, save for a guitar refrain in "Rest in Peace," no memorable passages whatsoever. While his credentials are impressive, producer Tom Dowd was not the man for the job. He was much better suited as a producer of Southern rock, jazz, and R&B acts. Again, Wishbone Ash suffered from inadequate lead vocals, but that wasn't as serious a problem as their atrocious songwriting. Locked In is the album that clearly signified the downfall of this immensely talented and promise-filled band. They never seemed to recover, both from a creative and popularity standpoint, from the abyss they fell into upon the release of Locked In.
