Nile recorded If I Was a River on the same Steinway grand piano that he played the night John Lennon was killed, December 8, 1980. Nile was in Studio "A" at The Record Plant in New York City making Golden Down and John and Yoko were working on Walking on Thin Ice in Studio C that night.

When White Heart gets it right, it's so right. And this is one of those albums where a White Heart line-up reaches the peak of its powers. Highlands, just marginally second to White Heart's best album, Freedom, has many similar reasons for its appeal as Freedom. In particular, it shows what White Heart can do better than nearly most bands - joyful songs that aren't cheesy (Don't get me wrong, White Heart have done their fair share of cheese, but not here). There isn't a dud track on Highlands.

Бескомпромиссный сайд-проект Акхенатена (на вокале ему здесь помогает его небезызвестный кореш Нил Джеймсон, a на ударных Cryptic Winter), с бескомпромиссным названием и бескомпромиссно неотличимый от его основного детища. Но это даже хорошо. Собственно, оба альбома Вельтмахт можно воспринимать как дополнение к дискографии JI. Дебютный полноформатник и достойный тычок под дых каждому ненавистнику USBM.

Очень быстрые гитары с очень разнообразными гитарными проигрышами, вокалист, не жалеющий свои голосовые связки - такое впечатление, что я перенесся назад на 20лет :) Вот какими должны были быть их идейные вдохновители! Причем до уровня плагиата группа не доходит, просто взято все самое лучшее в плане идеи и в целом звучания, переработано и даже приумножено. Вокалист обладает очень специфичным разнообразным и сильным голосом, аналогий которому нету вообще. Микширование хорошее, отчетливо слышно все инструменты и вокал, но до уровня эталонных записей им чего-то не хватает, наверное, даже по качеству записи хотели приблизиться к эталонам 80-х.
