Увы, продолжения не последовало. Песни были вроде и неплохи, но уж слишком прямолинейны и просты. Надежда возродилась лишь на "Empty House", но и она довольно быстро рухнула. Лишь на "Saviour" я вновь оживился, но тут... внезапно кончился альбом. В общем, пластинка оставила какие-то двойные чувства.

Было продано полтора миллионов экземпляров сингла с записью песни «Il ragazzo della via Gluck» (рус. Парень с улицы Глюка), в честь которой и назван альбом. Композиция также участвовала на Фестивале Сан-Ремо. Получив большой успех, она была переведена на двадцать два языка и более четырёх месяцев возглавляла итальянские хит-парады. Эта композиция, в которой рассказывается о судьбе простого миланского парня — первая острая социально-политическая песня и первая песня Челентано, которая обошла весь мир. Итогом имеем альбом-преемник “Desideratum”, намного сильнее его по внешним признакам, и лишь немного сильнее по внутренним. Но вот потенциально – лучший альбом аж со времён “In the Constellation of the Black Widow”, но потенциал которого не был раскрыт, в том числе, из-за неугасающей тяги насытить и без того насыщенное звучание группы нехарактерными для неё элементами. Как показывает практика – группа вполне в состоянии работать и без них. И если бы все песни были созданы по лекалам 3-й и 11-й, то “The Whole of the Law” стал бы, как минимум, вышкой года.

Очень качественная, полноценная и не имеющая ни аналогов, ни недочетов работа. Если описывать ее одним словом, то можно употребить эпитет "приятная": это просто земное удовольствие - находиться в окружении данных звуков. Альбом очень подходит для тех, кому начала нравиться Аннеке, но не нравятся ее более сложные песни, относящиеся, скажем, к периоду The Gathering.

Started in 1984, it marked the return of Wetton to the group after his firing in September 1983. He had been replaced by Emerson, Lake & Palmer co-founder Greg Lake, temporarily, for the concerts at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo in December 1983. The opening night of these shows, highly advertised as Asia in Asia, was the first in the history of MTV to be broadcast via satellite transmission. Following a two-month stint, Lake had left Asia and soon Wetton had been convinced to come back. The latter agreed, but made it a condition to his return that Howe depart the line-up. By the time sessions for Astra began, the group had recruited Meyer, a former guitarist of the Swiss hard rock band Krokus. This personnel change marked a shift in musical direction for Asia to a more edgy, slightly arena rock and metal sound. Howe commented in The Steve Howe Guitar Collection (1993) that when the album was done he was asked to play on it but declined because he didn't feel the material was strong.

Nach einem Versuch, bei der französischen Band Atoll einzusteigen, mit der er drei Nummern, darunter der spätere Asia-Titel Here Comes the Feeling, eingespielt hatte, ging John Wetton auf Anregung seines Managers Brian Lane mit Steve Howe ins Studio, um gemeinsam einige Lieder aufzunehmen. Als Schlagzeuger der neuen Band wurde Carl Palmer engagiert. Geoffrey Downes, der in Folge ein beständiger Autorpartner Wettons wurde, stieß als letzter zur Formation.

Asia are an English rock supergroup formed in London in 1981. The most commercially successful lineup was its original, which consisted of four members of different progressive rock bands who had enjoyed great success in the 1970s: lead vocalist and bassist John Wetton (King Crimson, Uriah Heep and U.K.), guitarist Steve Howe (Yes), keyboardist Geoff Downes (Yes and the Buggles) and drummer Carl Palmer (Emerson, Lake & Palmer). Their self-titled debut album released in 1982, remains their best-selling album and went to number one in several countries. Billboard listed it as the top album in the U.S. in 1982. The lead single from the album, "Heat of the Moment", remains their top charting and best-known song, reaching the top 40 in over a dozen markets. It peaked at #4 in the U.S. on the Billboard Hot 100 and hit #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.
