On 14 September 2012, celinedion.com announced that Dion's new English album titled Water and a Flame will be released in November 2012. However, on 26 September 2012, Sony Music Entertainment decided to postpone the release date of the new English-language album to 2013. In March 2013, René Angélil explained that they decided to delay the release date because the concept of the album has changed.[13] Instead of only half of the disc with original songs, they decided that the majority of the album should be original songs. Angélil stated that initially, the album was supposed to have six covers and six original songs.

In June 2012, Dion's official website announced that during April and May, the singer began recording songs for her next English and French albums which were to be released in the fall of 2012. The English album was to feature studio versions of previously unreleased songs from Dion's Las Vegas show, Celine, as well as several brand new tracks. In August 2012, celinedion.com confirmed that a cover of Journey's "Open Arms", which opens Dion's Las Vegas show, will be included on the upcoming English-language album. "A World to Believe In" (Japanese: あなたがいる限り, Hepburn: Anata ga Iru Kagiri; "As Long as You are with Me") is a song recorded by Canadian singer Celine Dion, taken from her tenth English-language studio album, Taking Chances (2007). It was written by Tino Izzo and Rosanna Ciciola, and produced by the Grammy-winning producer, John Shanks. Re-recorded as a duet with the Japanese singer Yuna Ito, it was released as the second single in Japan from Taking Chances on 16 January 2008, and also as the lead single from Dion's Japanese greatest hits album, Complete Best (2008). The duet version was also included on Ito's album, Wish (2008). The song reached number three on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 and number eight on the Oricon Singles Chart.

Если вдруг вам не нравились старые альбомы Crowbar, или же вы вообще не слышали эту группу, то диск "Sever the Wicked Hand" крайне рекомендуется к прослушиванию. Он поддержал тенденцию смены стиля от сладжа к более легким направлениям дума. Например, "Liquid Sky and Cold Black Earth" - это чистой воды дум/дэт, а "Let Me Mourn" - пример уже более традиционного дума. Но большинство треков представляет собой единую массу (большую массу!) думовых риффов, разделять которые по принципу принадлежности к поджанрам нет никакого желания. Почти все композиции на редкость меланхоличны по меркам жанра, отчаяние от прежней злобы сменилось усталостью. Даже хардкоровый ор сменился на пение, грубое и хриплое, но все-таки пение, изредка напоминающее об "Иконе" от Paradise Lost. Но, к счастью для давних поклонников группы, звук гитар не стали полностью отмывать от грязи и жира. К тому же, специально припасённый трек "Cleanse Me, Heal Me" возместит им все потери хардкорного драйва, а для слушающих группу впервые даст представление о раннем творчестве коллектива.

Стилистически этот альбом можно обозвать thrash / death, преобладает thrash. От дэта тут только некоторые моменты в песнях, а также лирика, посвященная смерти, например песня «Рак, грёбанный рак» или «Умирай, умирай». С музыкой вполне всё нормально, качество записи отличное. Не слишком тяжёлый, спокойный, равнодушный ко всему thrash / death. Барабанные партии схожи чем-то с Sepultura, гитарная работа тоже, и немного смахивает на Kreator и Slayer. Вокальные партии не похожи ни на что, такой голос я слышу в первые, он отличный, кстати. Вокал по ходу пропущен через некоторые фильтры, хотя может и в реале такой голосок, шепчущий тексты песен. Местами присутствуют клавишные или акустическая гитара, но баллад нет.
