In 1981, trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and saxophonist Branford Marsalis burst on the scene as the young lions who started a jazz renaissance. They were followed by their younger brothers, trombonist Delfeayo and drummer Jason. Incredible as it sounds, they’ve never recorded together as a family. On August 4, 2001, at the University of New Orleans, they performed with their father, the esteemed pianist and educator Ellis Marsalis in a concert that marked his retirement from the school’s jazz department. Supported by bassist Roland Guerin, the family delivers a swinging live program of standards and original works in trio, quartet, and sextet combinations. The elder Marsalis’s pristine pianism colors his midtempo tune “Swingin’ at the Haven,” while Jason Marsalis’s Afro-tinged intro peppers the standard “The Surrey with the Fringe on Top.” Wynton and Branford declare their brotherly love on the saxophonist’s Ornette Coleman-esque “Cain and Abel.” Actor-singer-pianist Harry Connick Jr. joins in on the fun with “Twelve’s It” and “St. James Infirmary.”

Those the Brokes is the second album from The Magic Numbers. The album was partly recorded in New York at Allaire Studios in Spring 2006, a venue which has also been used in the past by David Bowie, The Strokes and Ryan Adams, and was recorded and engineered by Richard Wilkinson.

The Magic Numbers is the self-titled debut album from The Magic Numbers. It was nominated for a Mercury Music Prize in 2005. Songwriting duties were taken by Romeo Stodart as was much of the musical composition and arrangement. It incorporated the earlier single release of "Hymn for Her" as a hidden track. The album incorporates many folk elements within the main indie sound which resounds throughout. The album also reflects many elements of the writers early childhood dreams, tales of their love life and desperation of youth. For example, "Love Me Like You", the best known single of the album, illustrates the difference of feeling in their love for each other.

Fingerprints on discs is very `off-putting`to say the least. My enjoyment of the music almost automatically get reduced because of it. I get a lot less `lust` to put this kind of disc into my tray. (When I buy new CDs it will forever stay in a near mint `condition` because I take good care of my music, pride and pleasure is a good combo for CDs.) Thank you and all the best, Snorre Fjær.

During the 90's the band went from strength to strength rising through the ranks of the brass band world when in the year 2000 gained Championship Section status playing the test piece 'Variations on an Enigma', Greggs were only awarded 8th place out of 10 but this was considered a great achievement first time around. The band has performed at many prestigious venues such as the Princess Ballroom at the Winter Gardens Blackpool, Symphony Hall Birmingham, Festival Hall Harrogate and the Albert Hall in London. It has also appeared on TV and took part in the Lord Mayor of London's parade. The band folded in 2009.

Here We Stand is the second studio album by Scottish rock band The Fratellis, released on 9 June 2008. Self produced by the band in their own studio in Scotland, Here We Stand reached and peaked at number five in the UK Albums Chart on 15 June 2008.

Everything that the mellow-toned tenor Fraser MacPherson played was "in the tradition," but some of the music on this CD reaches back even further than usual. Several of the songs (such as "Louisiana," "Struttin' With Some Barbecue" and "You're Lucky to Me") are from the 1920s, and even the three group originals hint at that early style. MacPherson, whose sound often resembles Zoot Sims and Stan Getz, was one of the last of the "Four Brothers" cool tenors. He is assisted by trombonist Ian McDougall, guitarist Oliver Gannon, bassist Steve Wallace, and drummer John Sumner (all fellow Canadians) throughout the delightful set, one of MacPherson's last before his 1993 death.

This album combines all tracks that appeared on the two previously released Eagles greatest hits albums (Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975) & Eagles Greatest Hits, Vol. 2), along with other singles not included on the first two compilations, album tracks and the new track "Hole in the World".
