Как будто эта буйная калифорнийская молодёжь действительно учла пожелания благосклонной публики касательно предыдущего альбома, и действительно работала над самостоятельностью и оригинальностью. Или просто слегка подросла, повзрослела? Насчёт оригинальности – это, конечно, дело такое: у одной из многочисленных банд, в открытую играющих под «ретро» (но позвольте заметить, всё же с толковым ясным, но не пластилиновым звуком!), называющейся по одному из классических альбомов бэй-эриа-трэша, да ещё с «классическим» бзиком на комиксах и мультиках, типичным для трэшевых и кроссоверных команд былых дней...

Рассматриваемая здесь работа 1997 года и есть венец творения Broken Hope, явившая миру еще одно лицо brutal death metal. Продажная загнивающая Америка, породившая многомиллионную яйцеголовую нацию, не имеющую национальности и с высоким уровнем потребления, оказывается, может кое-что производить на свет Божий. В данном случае родился альбом, в корне отличающийся от свои предшественников. Совершенно иной подход к игре, диаметрально изменившееся звучание, потрясающий уровень мелодизма, местами слышные пусть и простенькие, но электронные аранжировки, высокотехничная игра ударника, замечательные гитарные соло, причем все это встречается в таком количестве и настолько к месту, что просто душа радуется.

Это неплохой концертник Blue Oyster Cult с отличным звуком, включающий в себя классические вещи «Astronomy» and «Don’t Fear the Reaper». Единственная проблема с этим альбомом – это его продолжительность. Пластинка, включает в себя всего семь песен, две из которых – кавер-версии. Это «Kick Out the Jams» и «We Gotta Get Out of This Place», которые сами по себе не катят, а лишь разбавляют таинственную атмосферу песен группы. При прослушивании этой пластинки я просто пропускаю вышеупомянутые песни, но тогда песен остается всего лишь пять!
