Wingspan: Hits and History is a compilation album by English musician Paul McCartney, featuring material spanning his first solo album McCartney in 1970 to the 1984 Give My Regards to Broad Street movie soundtrack. It features songs recorded with Wings in addition to solo material.

Wingspan is separated into two distinct sets: the "Hits" disc features commercially successful material, while "History" showcases lesser-known songs from the same period. American and British editions of the album vary slightly, as the UK edition contains the studio version of "Coming Up", while the US edition contains "Coming Up (Live at Glasgow)", which was more popular there.

Признаться честно, после довольно брутально-прямолинейного предыдущего “Resurrection Macabre” я был слегка взволнован и насторожен, что не услышу более завёрнутого техно-дэта от этих голландцев. Но смею вас заверить, мои опасения оказались беспочвенными. На “Doctrine” Pestilence вернулись к ломаным и извращённым гитарным риффам, шизофреничным солякам и джазовому безладовому басу, который выпрыгивает, как чёрт из табакерки в самых неожиданных местах.

По-моему этот альбом еще более погружается в пучину аморфного и чертовски вкусного death-metal. В звуке стало больше размытости и хаоса, но фишка монотонного неспешного thrash-metal начатая на прошлом альбоме стала фирменной. “Nothing Has Change” – вполне иллюстративная песня, неспешный тяжелый рифф, спокойное выдержанное соло, полудэтовый хрип вокалиста. И так весь альбом. Ощущение такое, что музыканты играют ровно, спокойно, им торопиться некуда, ну может изредка разгонятся, и так же неспешно потом сбросят скорость. Альбом берет атмосферой, качем. Еще очень нравится гитарный звук, шуршащий, приятный такой “джи-джи-джи”. Под конец альбома, как повелось, хард-кор-безумие “Molotow Cocktail”. Сложно сказать, какой альбом лучше, этот или “Golem”. В конце CD четыре бонус-трека – концертные вещи с первых двух релизов, никакого эксклюзива. Хотя записаны хорошо. Еще момент: если сравнивать с old school death-metal сценой, то, пожалуй, ближайший аналог будет голландская группа Asphyx.
