The Captain and Me is the third studio album by American rock band The Doobie Brothers, released on March 2, 1973, by Warner Bros. Records. It features some of the band's most popular songs, including "Long Train Runnin'", "China Grove" and "Without You". The album has been certified 2× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It was voted number 835 in the third edition of Colin Larkin's All Time Top 1000 Albums (2000).

Liberté is the fifteenth studio album by American rock band the Doobie Brothers, released on Island Records. First released exclusively on streaming services on October 1, 2021, the album saw a CD release four weeks later on October 29 and an LP release in June 2022. It is their first studio album since 2014's Southbound, and their first of new material since 2010's World Gone Crazy. The band toured following the release of the album.

Reggatta de Blanc is the second album by The Police, released in 1979. It features the band's first two UK #1 hits: "Message in a Bottle" and "Walking on the Moon". It was their second album to bear a foreign language title after the band's 1978 debut album Outlandos d'Amour. Reggatta de Blanc proved both more popular and successful than its predecessor. The title track earned the band their first Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance in 1980.

Synchronicity reached number one on both the UK Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200, and sold over eight million copies in the US. The album was widely acclaimed by critics. Praise centered on its cohesive merging of disparate genres and sonic experimentation. Rolling Stone described "each cut on Synchronicity [as] not simply a song but a miniature, discrete soundtrack". It was ranked number 17 in the magazine's lists of the "100 Best Albums of the Eighties" and number 159 on the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time".
